The
total length of the Canada/U.S. boundary is 8,890 kilometres.
Canada's largest and one of the world's greatest earthquake, was
August 22, 1949, just
off the Queen
Charlotte Islands. The magnitude was a whopping 8.1 -- it was
definitely felt!
But the most destructive earthquake in Canada was on November 18, 1929
in the Atlantic Ocean, just
south of Newfoundland. It was a 7.2 magnitude. 27 people
drowned and so much damage done wby
a tsunami on the Burin Peninsula, just off the island of Newfoundland.
Canada has the world's longest coastline at 202,080 kilometres.
I'm not sure this is something to be proud of or not, but the fastest-built
highway is the Alaska
Highway. It runs from Dawson Creek, British Columbia to Fairbanks,
Alaska.
